Yes my friends, it's time to try a scooter.

How can you look like a celebrity, without spending a fortune? It's not easy, but for the fashion conscious and thrifty, I think I've found a way.

You must be prepared for a life-changing experience. An experience which in the long-term will actually save you money, de-stress you after a long hard day and make you the envy of all your friends.

Yes my friends, it's time to try a scooter.

They're all doing it, from Robbie Williams to Gwyneth Paltrow, this is the new ultra chic and super cool way to travel; and for good reason. Not only will you slash your fuel bills, half your journey times and always be able to park (usually for free), you'll also be doing your own little bit to help the environment. All this for less than a third of the cost of the cheapest small hatchback!

So what's the catch, where's the drawback, you're probably asking?

Ok, occassionally you'll get a bit wet when it rains and it can get a little nippy in winter, but hey, can't the same be said for standing and waiting at a bus stop? Just think, no more overcrowded trains, no more congestion charges or road tolls, no more traffic jams and no more delays. With road tax at around £15 a year, a scooter has to be  the nearest thing to the perfect commuter.

Petrol at £1 a litre - who cares? You can only fit seven litres in the tank and that should last you all week, if not two.

Reliability, performance and style all come as standard with the more recognised brands. They couldn't be easier to ride either, just twist and go (or rev and rip, if you're under 18 ). No clutch to worry about or awkward gearchanges, if you can ride a bike, you can ride a scooter. Todays technology has made them safer too, with specially linked brakes for better stopping alongside improved tyres and suspension for better handling.

All you'll need to do, is pass a simple days training, known as Compulsory Basic Training,(approx £100). Get kitted out in your safety gear and you're ready to go!Whether you are a time strapped executive, a busy student or a shift worker, you'll feel extra special every time you climb aboard, knowing you've got one over on all the other commuters.

Some scooters are valued so much, they are even used in business. Many taxi bikes are now using big scooters because of their large carrying capacity, economy and smooth performance. One company has even adapted their scooters to become Eco-Friendly Car Washing Machines. Known as Aquanoughts, these waterless washers use scooters for their unique ability to get from one side of a city to another, without having to queue in traffic.

With two years warranty as standard on most new machines, and the average cost of scooters hovering around the £2000 mark, this is the transport of the future.

They're green, mean and lean, that's why we're all so keen!

Scootering moves the world, so let it move yours!
